Subjective And Preferential

When customizing your ship, you'll find that there are different options for engineering habs. Different manufacturers have engineering habs in their catalog, with some having Engineering Bays A and B. However, the different engineering habs have no functional differences.

Their interior design will look a little different and some engineering habs may have an extra chair or extra storage box, but their general purpose is mostly cosmetic.

Install Other Hab Types for Additional Functions

If you're looking for habs that will provide useful functions, we recommend installing a Workshop Hab or a Science Lab Hab instead. These hab types will add workstations in your ship that will allow the crafting of different items and equipment.

Beds

Interacting with beds will allow you to sleep which replenishes your health and fast forwards time. This can be useful when encountering quests that require you to wait several hours to progress.

Storage Boxes allow you to store items in your ship without taking up cargo space.

Chairs

Similar to beds, chairs allow your character to fast-forward time while waiting for specific quests or events. However, sitting down on chairs does not replenish health.
