The Workshop Hab module is the best ship part to get early. It adds weapon, spacesuit, and industrial workbenches to your ship that allows you to craft weapon mods, armor mods, and components respectively using resources and materials. They may also add a research lab which allows you to complete research projects, unlocking new crafting recipes.

Workshop Habs Possible Minor Interior Additions

Depending on the manufacturer of the hab module, it may include several minor components that you can interact with.

Beds

Interacting with beds will allow you to sleep which replenishes your health and fast forwards time. This can be useful when encoutering quests that require you to wait several hours to progress.

Storage Boxes

Storage Boxes allow you to store items in your ship without taking cargo space.

Chairs

Similar to beds, chairs allow your character to fast forward time while waiting for specific quests or events. However, sitting down on chairs do not replenish health.

Passenger and Crew Capacity

Some habs increase the number of NPCs you can invite and have inside your ship.
