This is the list of Pals than can be ridden as Land mounts! Both Necromus and Paladius are the fastest Pals you can use to run around in Palpagos Island.
In the early game, Direhowl stands out as an amazing mount due to its movement speed being further boosted by its Partner Skill!
The following are the criteria to be met when ranking Pals for Land.

These Pals are some of the fastest Pals you can get in game in their respective category and are the cream of the crop compared to other mounts. | |
Pals in A Tier are often the best to use in the later part of the game but are usually outclassed by Pals in the SS and S Tier. | |
B Tier Pals are upgrades to the C Tier Pals but will fall off when it comes to end game purposes. | |
C Tier Pals are great for early game, but are severely overclassed copared to the ones in higher tiers. | |
D Tier Pals are very slow and are generally not recommended as a fast mount. They usually have great extra effects to their Parner Skills to compensate. |

These are the terrestrial Mount Pals that can jump multiple times, letting you cover a good amount of vertical distance. Paladius especially stands out because it is the only pal that can perform a Triple Jump.

Direhowl stands out as an amazing early game mount due to its movement speed being further boosted by its Partner Skill! It even gets better the more you upgrade it at a Pal Essence Condenser.
As for Dazemu, it has an increased movement speed while on sand, making it great for exploring beaches or vast desert landscapes!

Yakumo has a very unique Partner Skill that increases the chance of encountering Pals with the same Passive Skills as it. This is great if you're trying to find Pals with the perfect passives, or Pals with rare passives like Lucky.

In order to ride a specific Pal, you need to craft their specific Pal Gear at a Pal Gear Workbench. Both of these can be unlocked in the Technology Tab of the Menu.
Note that each Pal Gear has its own recipe so make sure you get the materials needed beforehand to craft the Pal Gear you need for your Mount.
