The recommended level for this boss battle is Level 25. At this level, you should have powerful Pals to take on this fight and an upgraded Technology tree to craft new and better equipment.
If ever you're having trouble with this boss, then consider increasing your level to Level 29. This should give you a general increase in stats, making this fight easier, and key Technology breakpoints that unlock upgraded equipment like the Giga Shield and Handgun.
At this level, the best way to farm XP would be to defeat Alpha Pals either in Dungeons or out in the overworld.
Considering that the Tower of the Free Pal Alliance is located atop a snowy mountain, you might be wearing the weaker Cold Resistant Pelt Armor. Remember to change your armor to the better Metal Armor otherwise you'll take more damage than usual.
However, if you've reached Level 27, you'll have access to the Cold Resistant Metal Armor which has slightly more defense and you can also ignore the issue of having to swap your armor entirely.
The Makeshift Handgun is available right at Level 25, making it the perfect weapon for this fight. The main reason why you'd want to use this weapon is because Lyleen likes to dodge and jump away from its target. This makes having to fight it in melee range extremely difficult.
While the Makeshift Handgun has a great 320 Attack stat, its main limitation is that it requires a good supply of Coarse Ammo. While Ingots are easy to get at this point in the game, the main limitation is Gunpowder because of how uncommon Sulphur is at this level.
If ever you're having difficulty farming for resources to make ammo, consider buying some instead from Wandering Traders located around the world.
How to Get Gunpowder: All Recipes and Effects
Lyleen prefers to use ranged attacks, which can be easily intercepted by the pillars inside the arena. Stick close to them so that you can dodge and put a pillar in between you and one of Lyleen's attacks.
Make sure to watch for Lyleen's Whirlwind Attack because it can go through terrain and hit you while you're behind a pillar.
Lyleen is a Grass Element Pal meaning it is weak to Fire-type attacks! Try to use Pals that know moves like Spirit Fire or Flare Arrow to quickly whittle down Lily and her Lyleen.
Fire-type Pals will also resist Lyleen's Grass attacks, allowing them to easily tank hits and giving you room to fire away at Lyleen while it's distracted trying to wear down your Pal.
Palworld Element Type Matchup Chart
While it may seem like an obvious decision to use a Fire-type Pal, Lily's Lyleen has Water-type attacks to counter them. If your Pal consistently gets knocked out, then consider using a different Pal that can either resist Water or take neutral hits from Lyleen's attacks.
Alternatively, you could always recall your Pal back into its Sphere, but it also makes it risky for you since you're Lyleen's only target before you can send your Pal back out again.
Pyromaniac raises the damage dealt by Fire-type attacks by 10%. This will let you deal more damage to Lyleen and potentially be the difference-maker during the 10-minute time limit.
Alternatively, with trial and error, you can breed the perfect pal. When breeding, child pals can inherit up to four (4) Passive Skills from the passive skills pool of the (2) two parent Pals.
How to Chain Breed Passive Skills
Partner Skill | Description | Pal |
---|---|---|
Tiny Spark | While Rooby is in your party, your active Fire Pal's attack is increased. | Rooby |
Lava Spout | While Kelpsea Ignis is in your party, the attack of your active Fire Pal is increased. When assigned to the Ranch, Kelpsea Ignis produces Flame Organ. | Kelpsea Ignis |
Certain pals have Partner Skills that can boost the damage dealt by elemental moves. For this fight, you can get two that boost Fire-Type attacks!
You can teach any Pal a Fire Element attack by feeding it a Dark Skill Fruit. These can be randomly found on Skill Fruit Trees located out in the overworld.
