Legendary Pals are unique Pals with the Legend Passive Skill and posses their own signature Passive Skill which increases the damage of attacks that share their Element. They can be found at specific locations in the map.
List of All Legendary Pals and Locations
Alpha Boss Pals are tough world bosses you can battle and catch in Palworld, and are found out in the open or inside dungeons across the map. Alpha Pals are unique as they have a special marking and are larger in size compared to normal Pals.
List of Alpha Bosses and Locations
Some Pals are quite tricky to find if you're looking to complete your Paldeck. These rare Pals can sometimes be only found in certain areas in the map or only appear as Alpha Bosses and do not spawn in the wild.
A few select Pals can only appear inside dungeons in the map. There's a high chance that you might miss these Pals if you don't explore dungeons often, so try to check out dungeons when you can!
Fusion Pals are variants of regular Pals you can encounter in the wild. They have a different appearance and Element from their original versions. Most of them can be found in a different area of the map, far away from their original versions.
List of All Fusion Pals and How to Get
Some Pals only appear during nighttime and cannot be encountered during the day. Keep an eye out for these Pals if you're exploring at night!
Several Pals can be encountered as Field Bosses inside hidden mineshafts around the map. Read on for a list of these Pals and how to locate their mineshafts!
All Mineshaft Field Bosses and Locations
There are three Wildlife Sanctuary islands in Palworld where you can encounter rare Pals, which you can reach with the help of flying or surfing Pals.
All Wildlife Sanctuary Pals and Locations
Some Pals have Partner Skills that allow them to be ridden on. There are Pals you can ride on land, those you can use to fly, those that can swim in water, and those that you can use as gliders.
You can ride these mount Pals by crafting the corresponding Pal Gear on a Pal Gear Workbench and sending out the mount Pal you want from your party.
Aside from catching them in the wild, you can also obtain Pals by hatching Eggs found in the wild or those produced by breeding!
Various Pals can hatch from different Egg sizes and Egg types. Once you obtain an Egg, place it in an Egg Incubator, wait for it to hatch, and get yourself a brand new Pal!

Pals refer to the mysterious monster creatures with abilities that inhabit the world of Palworld.
You can choose to train them for battle, ride them to traverse the world, or make them do labor work in your farms or factories. Selling or eating them is also an option!
Beginner's Guide: Tips and Tricks to Get Started
After the addition of the new Sakurajima Pals as well as Bellanoir and Bellanoir Libero, there are now 163 Pals that you can catch in Palworld. This includes all Legendary Pals, fusion Pal variants, and those that can only be obtained by breeding.
Do note that this is the current Pal count in the game at the time of writing; more Pals may be added in the future as per the roadmap shared by Palworld developers.
How Many Pals Are in Palworld?
You can capture Pals by throwing a Pal Sphere at them, and each Pal can have varying capture rates depending on multiple factors.
The first is their level: you will have a higher capture rate the lower their level relative to you, and vice-versa. Some Pals, usually the stronger ones such as the Alpha Pals, are also inherently more difficult to catch compared to regular Pals.
Additionally, you can lower the health of the Pal before throwing the Sphere to increase your capture rate. Lastly, you can use higher tier Pal Spheres, such as Giga Spheres, to have better chances in catching a Pal.
