Global Illumination is a new graphic setting released in Version 4.0 in Genshin Impact. Learn all about where to find it, what it does, and how to activate it in this guide!
The Global Illumination setting can be found under the Graphics settings in between Shadow Quality and Visual Effects. From here, you can activate or deactivate Global Illumination.
Take note that this option is only available for PC and Mobile. For PlayStation users, Global Illumination is activated by default.
In order to activate and take full advantage of Global Illumination on PC, these system specifications are required.

Global Illumination is a graphics setting that affects the lighting in-game to appear smoother and more realistic, with higher contrast between light and shadow, and defined light streaks whenever light passes through mists and smoke.
Shadows are feathered better, and in-game textures look more three-dimensional.
