Choosing a Main Character
EnlargeAt the start of the game, you will be asked to choose from one of the Twins, also known as the Travelers. Tap on either the male or female Main Character, then enter a name of your choosing.

EnlargeThe Main Character's name can be changed in the Summon Paimon Menu. You can also change the User Avatar and add a signature in the Paimon menu's options.
How to Change Main Character's Name
Entering a Birthday
EnlargeYou can also set a birthday in the Summon Paimon Menu. Setting a birthday will give you a special bonus on your entered birthdate.
EnlargeNote that you will not be able to change your birthdate once you have entered it.

Character Customization is Not Available
EnlargeYou cannot change the Main Character's appearance in Genshin Impact. However, it's possible to change the look of their Wind Gliders by tapping the Hanger icon on the lower right of the character's Details Screen.
EnlargeTapping that icon opens the list of available skins for your character's Wind Glider.
This is the Same For Other Characters
At the time of writing, obtained characters' appearances cannot be changed. Mihoyo's characters in Genshin Impact are well designed so a time where their appearances can be changed may not come but who know?
