Reading the Weasel Thief Training Manual on the quest location in The Chasm will give you a hint and a time. The prompt you're looking for is the Golden Weasel Thief!

Whistle at 00:00 ~ 01:59 Midnight

Stand on the raised rock nearby the red tree and change the time to 00:00 — 01:59 Midnight.

Hit the Golden Weasel

After whistling at the specified time, defeat the Golden Weasel that spawns. This will give you the Brass Ring, which is Taliesin's lost ring! Return to him to finish the puzzle and quest.
