Morgott, the Omen King Boss Tips |
---|
Save your Spirit Ashes for Phase 2 |
Defensive spells will be very effective |
Since you'll be able to summon Melina for the fight, don't immediately summon Spirit Ashes to tank Morgott's attacks. Keep your distance and let Melina take the hits for Phase 1.
Once Phase 2 starts, Melina will usually have very low health or will have already died. At this point, summon a tanky Spirit Ash such as Banished Knight Oleg to have another ally.
Since Morgott, the Omen King likes to fight up close, defensive spells such as Night Maiden's Mist or Carian Phalanx will deal a good amount of damage against him.
Morgott, the Omen King Boss Tips |
---|
Use heavy Ashes of War |
Try to parry when Morgott, the Omen King uses sword attack patterns |
Morgott, the Omen King is easily staggered by heavy attacks. Use Ashes of War such as Ground Slam to break his poise and do a critical hit. Doing two in a row will always open him up for a free attack.
Unlike his other weapons, Morgott's sword can be parried constantly. Use your shield and time your parries right to break his poise and do a critical hit.
Morgott's hammer attacks will always have a delay, so don't spam your dodges or you're bound to get hit. Pay close attention to the movement of his left hand to know when to dodge.
Holy Hammer Attack Variations |
---|
Double Sweep: Morgott sweeps the area in front of him with both his sword and hammer. The quick succession of the two weapons makes it difficult to dodge correctly so try to block the attacks with your shield instead. |
Overhead Strike: Morgott swipes at you with his sword then use his hammer for an overhead slam. You can dodge into these attacks, but you'll have to be careful with the timings since Morgott will always delay the hammer attack. |
Hammer Slam: Morgott jumps then slams his hammer at you. Time to your dodge to when he reaches the peak of his jump. You can dodge into the attack to get free hits in. |
Spinning Attack: Morgott will spin around with his sword and hammer, hitting you if you're caught in range. It's difficult to dodge this attack so block with your shield instead. |
Holy Spear Attack Variations |
---|
Spear Throw: Morgott tosses his spear at you if you're keeping your distance. Time your dodge to when his left foot is about to land on the ground. |
Sword and Spear Slam: After a Spear Throw, Morgott will leap towards you and slam the ground with both his spear and his sword. Similar to his Hammer Slam, wait for him to reach the peak of his jump then dodge. |
Spear Thrust: Morgott pierces you with his spear. He will sometimes charge at you with this same move. This can be hard to react to due to the speed that he conjures a spear. Keep a shield ready at all times. |
Holy Dagger Attack Variations |
---|
Dagger Throw: This is similar to Margit the Fell Omen's dagger throw but they will always come in threes. They should still be easy enough to dodge, however. |
Sword and and Dagger Combo: Morgott swipes at you with several spinning moves using his sword and dagger, ending with a jumping attack. Dodge backward to avoid this attack. |
Rain of Daggers: Morgott conjures daggers above him that drop continuously for a brief period. The daggers will drop in an X formation so you can avoid these by staying in an open segment. |
Sword Attack Variations |
---|
Sword Combo: Morgott swipes at you in various directions, ending with a spinning move where he leaps away. While these attacks can be dodged, he delays several of his swipes, which can make it hard to find the timings. It's safe to just keep a shield up once he starts this move. |
Sliding Blade: Morgott sprints to the side then lunges at you with his blade. Time your dodge to when he's just about to leap at you. |
Geyser Burst Attack Information |
---|
X: Morgott will always start Phase 2 by unleashing a torrent of magma from the ground. Get some distance once he starts coughing and has fire effects on his body to avoid being hit. |
In Phase 2, Morgott will be able to imbue his sword with blood, boosting its damage and giving him new abilities. In this form, his attacks will always leave a trail so it's important to keep your distance when he coats his sword in blood.
Blood Attack Variations |
---|
Blood Thrust: After thrusting his sword into you, Morgott will lift you up before tossing you to the ground. This deals significant damage so dodge to the side as soon as he starts charging at you. |
Blood Slice: This is similar to Morgott's sword combos, but his slices will contain a trail of blood and fire that can damage you if you're hit. The range of the slices is quite large, so get some distance once he starts coating his sword in blood. |
