The Vagabond has the highest Vigor stat among the starting classes, has decent Endurance, and a good balance of Strength and Dexterity. Given that this class has a high base Vigor, thus having higher HP, this class is the most recommended class for players who are new to the series.
For Vagabonds, you should boost their Vigor and Endurance early on to increase their HP and stamina, respectively. Secure enough HP so that you can withstand a few strikes from the enemy and get your stamina up so that you can parry and attack without tiring in the middle of a fight.
Develop your Strength or Dexterity according to the weapon you want to use (whether it is a Strength-scaling weapon or a Dexterity-scaling weapon). Useful weapons for Vagabonds basically require these two stats. Therefore, find the physical weapon you want to use and focus on the stat according to that weapon. Both of these stats have other uses that will aid you on your journey, so your investments in them won't go to waste.
