How to Increase HP

Add Points to Vigor to Increase HP

Elden Ring -Vigor Difference

Increase your HP permanently by leveling up your Vigor at any Site of Grace after meeting Melina. Your base survivability relies on your Vigor stat as it determines your maximum health, immunity, and fire resistance.

All Stats and Attributes

Vigor Soft Cap and Hard Cap

The soft cap for Vigor is level 40, while the hard cap is level 60. Upgrading your Vigor further is not worth the Runes as the health increase is significantly low.

Vigor HP Increase
Levels 1 - 40 +4 to +48 HP Gains
Levels 41 - 60 +26 to +13 HP Gains
Levels 61 - 99 +6 to +3 HP Gains

Vigor level 40 is the soft cap because HP gains diminish significantly at 41 and higher. Pushing through Vigor Level 40 is only manageable until level 60, the hard cap. Vigor upgrades beyond 60 are no longer recommended due to low HP increase and high Rune cost.

To optimize your build, it's best to reach Vigor level 40 or 60 and simply use items and armor that increase your max health.
