ELDEN RING Reforged is an overhaul about giving the player a great variety of reasons to engage with the game world, imagine and realize a compelling character fantasy through balanced and powerful build choices, and refining ELDEN RING's combat system with rich, impactful moment-to-moment decisions and a variety of tools at the player's disposal.

Please note before playing:


Reforged is best enjoyed in thorough, long playthroughs, as if playing again for the first time. Popular "get strong quick" routes are absent.
Reforged is rebalanced in deeply fundamental ways, meaning that knowledge and comparisons to vanilla game balance should be left at the door.
To promote build variety and fantasy, many previously weak and under-used strategies are now fun and competitive, while some of the more oppressive ones are equalized.
Reforged is a polished experience which is fully ready to play, but receives frequent updates and development.
Due to the nature of Souls modding, and the quick release schedule, compatibility with other mods is very low.
Reforged realizes a strong vision when it comes to its goals and the experience it provides, but all feedback is welcome and accounted for.

New and Engaging Combat
Guard and (Perfect) Deflect with any weapon, rewarding good timing with a powerful advantage.
Vary your evasive actions beyond rolling with Sliding, Ducking and Jumping along with vastly improved enemy hitboxes.
Time your inputs precisely to trigger Perfect Actions, improving your speed and resource management.
Ambidextrous action: Perform any special moves such as rolling, dashing or backstab attacks with your left-hand weapon, while retaining guarding ability.
Ebb and flow: Generate FP through weapon attacks, then spend it on powerful weapon skills.
Fully rebalanced enemy negations and resistances, with Madness and Death Blight status effects now affecting most foes, even bosses.




Freedom of Choice


Embody a strong character fantasy with Fortunes, a class and sub-class system promoting varied archetypal builds.
Employ dozens of new weapons, talismans, and fully revamped existing equipment with all-new stats and balancing.
Choose from an expanded list of 24 Weapon Affinities with varied scalings and bonuses, to fit your unique character.
Advance with Reworked Character Stats, boasting new scalings and secondary effects, along with a maximum level of RL200.
Gain power beyond levels with Runeforging, granting passive stats which may be re-assigned at any time.
Wield passive bonuses with Enkindled Ashes of War, and apply them even to unique somber weapons.
Scour the Land of Shadow for powerful Curios, each rewarding a type of combat action with an impactful effect.
Take full advantage of a Revamped Crafting System where recipes are less restrictive, and consumables can power a whole play style.




A Personal Journey


Explore updated and new locations, and fight many new bosses and enemy types with a familiar feel.
Tailor the challenge to your own needs through the Difficulty system, for both laid-back and die-hard players.
Express your own style with Transmogrify Armor, Armor Dyes and Nightfarer Postures.
Discover 1200+ Rune Pieces and Ember Pieces, collectibles manually placed in the hidden corners of the world that fuel the Runeforging and Curio systems.
Challenge overhauled Enemy Camps to collect equipment normally reserved to random drops.
Track all the world's foes in the Codex of the All-Knowing, learn their weaknesses and unlock powerful rewards.
Spend rare Starlight Tokens to unlock build capstone items early in the playthrough at the Altar of Anticipation.



Advanced Magecraft


Discover dozens of new spells that pad out existing spell schools in fitting, unique ways.
Maintain your FP economy through Generator Spells and magical Catalyst Heavy attacks.
Cast spells faster, with shorter recovery times, and further increase your speed by investing in Mind instead of Dexterity.
Wield weapons reimagined as Weapon Catalysts, casting with Guard+Light Attack without sacrificing guarding or heavy attack capabilities.
Slot spells into your catalysts with Mystic Ashes, and easily access them with the Ash-of-War input.
Find passive assistance from Rebalanced Spirit Ashes, then use Spirit Fury to let them command enemy attention.




Community and Online Play


Experience fully-featured FromSoftware multi-player on Reforged's Custom Multiplayer Server, with separate match-making.
Enjoy advanced Seamless Coop support and (some) bug fixes when playing in the separate offline mode.
Play in your desired language with community translations, mostly or partially complete, especially Japanese, German and French.
Chat with your fellow players and the developers in the ERR Discord, post feedback, and find help and advice.

Too Much to Cover

ELDEN RING Reforged is a truly colossal project, and the hundreds of thousands of changes that make up its whole can't be put into words. Still, here's some other things you can expect:


An easy installation process, including native support for Linux and Steam Deck.
A gorgeous, more readable UI with more information and new icon graphics.
Resurrect and re-challenge bosses at any time.
Much improved camera lock-on dynamics for large bosses.
Overhauled weight and stamina system, where "Overloaded" is a viable, truly weighty play style.
Unique game modes such as Adventure Mode (no grace travel) and Eternal Return (a Majora's Mask tribute).
New and remixed movesets for many existing weapons.
Tens of thousands of fixes to asset placements, clipping and raytracing lighting bugs.

Many, many other minor fixes, adjustments and improvements that have piled up over the years are not listed.

How to install

ELDEN RING Reforged is incredibly simple to install for Souls mod standards. It comes bundled with a launcher program that takes care of everything for you.

After downloading the mod and unpacking the archive, please read the "README" files in the unpacked folder!

To avoid issues, please unpack the mod into a folder such as "C:\ERR" on an SSD hard drive, and add an exception to that folder for your anti-virus programs.
