Just like how Crafting Components are used to craft Weapons, Quickhack Components are used to craft Quickhacks in Cyberpunk 2077.
After the crafting spec overhaul of Update 2.0, crafting a quickhack now needs you to own the associated Quickhack Crafting Spec. These specs can be looted off of enemies, found in chests, or acquired by hacking terminals.
How to Get Crafting Specs in Update 2.0
Unlike weapon crafting components whose crafting specs are unlocked by default, Quickhack Components need you to purchase their crafting spec before you can craft them in Update 2.0. Quickhack Component crafting specs can be purchased from Netrunners.
Throughout Night City, you'll find Access Points and Terminals which you can hack if you have the required amount of Intelligence.
After jacking in, you will have to play the Breach Protocol minigame. A successful hack will result in a windfall of eurodollars, Quickhack Components, and sometimes Quickhack Crafting Specs.
Try to upload as many sequences as possible to yield the maximum amount of Quickhack Components.
Hacking and Breach Protocol Guide
If you find yourself struggling to get all sequences during the Breach Protocol mini-game, try purchasing higher tier Cyberdecks. The higher the tier of the cyberdeck, the more buffer slots they get.
Unfortunately, most of the related perks for Breach Protocol have been removed in Update 2.0. The only perk left that can reduce sequence lengths by 1 is the Forcekill Cypher perk under the Intelligence Perk Tree.
How to Unlock the Forcekill Cypher Perk
If you need Quickhack Components fast, you can disassemble any extra quickhacks you have in your inventory. However, the catch is, you can only access the menu that shows your quickhacks if you have a Cyberdeck equipped.
Unfortunately, after Update 2.0, all crafting components have been removed from merchant inventories. Players will no longer be able to buy Quickhack Components from Netrunner vendors when playing an updated version of the game.
Instead, Netrunners now stock the crafting specs of each Quickhack Component tier. Since these aren't unlocked by default, you will need to purchase them if you want to start making Quickhack Components from the crafting menu.
In the new update, Enemy Netrunners can now drop Quickhack Components and Quickhack Crafting Specs when killed. When fighting enemy Netrunners or members of the Voodoo Boys, you will have a high chance of getting quickhack components when looting their bodies.
