Infected is Now Live in Season 2!
Originally introduced in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the Season 2 update brought the Infected game mode to Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) along with other new multiplayer updates such as Hardcore and Ranked Play.

What Is Infected?
Zombie Survival Multiplayer Mode
Infected is an 18-player zombie survival game mode that can be played in Multiplayer where one player is randomly chosen as the infected at the start of the match, while other players will play the role of survivors.
The infected is granted an enormous amount of health and is devoid of any weapons— except for the use of melee weapons such as the default knife, and will have to hunt down the non-infected players. The survivors on the other hand will spawn with random weapon loadouts and is tasked with surviving until the five-minute game timer ends.
Once a survivor is killed, that player turns into one of the infected and will have to chase down the remaining survivors. The match goes on until the survival timer ends or once all the survivors are turned into the infected.
