Yellow Wind Sage Location

Black Myth: Wukong Interactive Map

Found in the Yellow Wind Formation

The Yellow Wind Sage is found inside the sand tornado that you see throughout Chapter 2. Specifically, it's in the Yellow Wind Formation area, which is accessed after beating the Tiger Vanguard and Stone Vanguard bosses.

Do note that this is the final boss of this chapter, so make sure that you are fully prepared before heading into the fight.

Can Also Go to the Cellar of the Crouching Tiger Temple

If you have the Cellar shrine below the Crouching Tiger Temple unlocked, you can teleport there instead since it is closer to the boss arena!

How to Beat Yellow Wind Sage

Yellow Wind Sage Strategy

Use the Wind Tamer Vessel

Wind Tamer Vessel

The Wind Tamer is a Vessel obtained after beating the secret boss Fuban. Not only does it grant a massive defense boost, it also grants immunity to Wind Attacks which the Sage will use a lot during his fight.

Activating the Wind Tamer during the fight also stuns the Yellow Wind Sage for 5 to 10 seconds, giving you enough time to buff yourself with medicine or summon your duplicates to deal massive damage to the boss!

Use Medicines Before the Fight

Use Medicines Before the Fight
It's recommended to stock up on medicines and use them before entering the boss arena. This will help make the fight much more manageable, especially if you use an Evil Repelling Medicament and Longevity Decoction for Damage Reduction and Max HP respectively.

Equip the Rock Solid Spell

You'll want to have the Rock Solid spell equipped for this fight since the Yellow Wind Sage has attacks that stun him when you block it with this spell. The most notable attack to counter is when he steps on you since it will knock him down when you block the attack!

Use the Copper Pill Soak for Free Casts

Copper Pill
If you combine your drink with a Copper Pill, your next Rock Solid cast will cost 0 Mana whenever you drink from your Gourd! Do note that this only lasts for a brief period, so try to time your heals with an incoming attack.

Dodge After He Throws the Statue

Whenever the Yellow Wind Sage uses the attack that throws the big insect statue thing, you'll want to dodge again after evading it since he will use a follow-up attack that's hard to see because of the dust cloud.

Avoid the Tornado

One of the more unassuming but dangerous attacks is the tornado that he summons at around 33~25% of his HP. While it doesn't do that much damage, the Yellow Wind Sage can combo off of it as soon as you hit the ground.
