Before entering the battle at Guanyin Temple, craft the Pilgrim's Equipment Set for added defense. This set also boosts your attack while running, which is particularly useful since you'll be moving a lot during the fight.
You can automatically craft these once you reach the Guanyin Temple Incense shrine.
Lingxuzi will try to face you head-on. Focus on attacking from behind to disrupt his attacks and force him to turn.
Pillar Stance is ideal for this fight, as it helps you avoid Lingxuzi's ground-based attacks.
When Lingxuzi climbs onto the rooftops, stay still and wait for his aerial attack. Dodge at the precise moment.
Lock onto him to track his movements effectively.

Lingxuzi is a character in Journey to the West. Described as a Gray Wolf Spirit, he is a close friend of both Black Bear Guai and the Whiteclad Noble.
In the novel, Lingxuzi appears disguised as a Taoist for most of his appearance, only reverting to his wolf form when Sun Wukong kills him. Unlike in-game, the Lingxuzi of the novel is fairly intelligent and is easily killed by Sun Wukong.
