In the Falling Flower Manor, there was a Taoist who was the last to apprentice and the youngest, thus often receiving special attention from the grandmaster. He willingly served the grandmaster, bringing tea when the master extended his hand, and removing shoes when the master lifted his foot. He was diligent in tasks like swatting flies and making beds, earning the grandmaster's favor.

His fellow disciples, envious but unwilling to stoop to flattery, resorted to gossip and suppression to vent their frustrations.

One day, the grandmaster held a test for his disciples. Intending to protect the youngest disciple, he only asked him to recite a passage from the "Tao Te Ching." Confidently, the young disciple recited loudly but incorrectly, causing his brothers to burst into laughter, even sneaking glances to see the grandmaster's embarrassed reaction. The grandmaster, indeed annoyed, stormed off. The other disciples then intimidated the young disciple, warning him that he had angered the master and would no longer receive true teachings.

After some time of avoiding the young disciple, the grandmaster, unable to find anyone else who could serve him as well, began to recall his good qualities. Not long after, he called the young disciple back to serve him but was disgusted to see that the disciple was not focused on understanding the Tao. One day, when the disciple asked the grandmaster to pass on his skills, perhaps mockingly, the grandmaster turned his daily tasks of swatting flies and fanning into a set of techniques, teaching him some wind-controlling spells, and dismissed the matter hastily.
