Upper Harbor Gear Chest
The Upper Harbor Gear Chest is located inside the ship's storage room east of Upper Harbor. You need to push and pull three shelves to make your way inside the room to reach the gear chest.

Metal Factory Gear Chest
The Metal Factory Gear Chest is located inside a locked room on the second floor of the Metal Factory.
You need to find the open window which allows you to throw a Throwing Knife to destroy the wooden beam on the barred door that leads to the gear chest.

Damascus Gate Prison Gear Chest
You can find the Damascus Prison Gate Gear Chest inside a small gated room on the moat area of the prison. Use a Throwing Knife through the broken gate to destroy the wooden beam on the barred door to unlock it and reach the gear chest.

Hammam Gear Chest
To get the gear chest in Hammam, you need to find a fire pot and throw it at the breakable rock wall to reach the gear chest location.
The Four Markets Gear Chest
The Four Markets Gear Chest requires you to pickpocket the Four Markets Storage Key from a civilian to reach the room with fire pots in it.
Use the fire pot to destroy the breakable rock wall to reach the gear chest.

House of Wisdom Gear Chest
The Gear Chest in House of Wisdom is located on the west tower of the building.
You need to find and pickpocket a civilian that has the key that leads a locked room that has the Gear Chest. You also need to use a throwing knife through the window of the west tower a set of fire pots underneath the locked room.

The Great Bimaristan Gear Chest
You can find The Great Bimaristan Gear Chest on the room with the barred door on top of the eastern part of the building. The gear chest itself is hidden behind a bookshelf that you can pull to reach it.

Scriptorium Gear Chest
You can find the Scriptorium gear chest on the second floor of the eastern building of the Scriptorium in Abbasiyah.

The Bazaar Gear Chest
The Bazaar Gear Chest is located inside a locked room on the second floor of the building. It is tied to the Gilded Butterflies quest but you can get it earlier by throwing a Throwing Knife through a window to break the wooden beam on the barred door.

Officer's Club Gear Chest
The Officer's Club Gear Chest is located in an alcove on the front of the building. There is no puzzle required to reach the gear chest, although you need to assassinate or distract two guards to enter the alcove.

Monastery of the Virgins Gear Chest
You can find the Monastery of the Virgins Gear Chest behind a bookshelf on the northernmost room of the monastery. Assassinate the guard inside the room and move the bookshelf to the left side to reach the room with the gear chest.

Qasr Salih Gear Chest
The Qasr Salih Gear Chest is inside the heavily guarded building. Eliminate the enemies and use the nearby fire pot to break the wall on the roof for access to the chest.

Al-Jahiz's House Gear Chest
You can find the Al-Jahiz's House Gear Chest on the lowest floor of the house. You'll have to break the wall using a fire pot to enter Al-Jahiz's House.

Mazalim Courts Gear Chest
The Mazalim Courts Gear Chest is located inside the main building. You'll need to destroy the weak wall to gain access to the interior and open the gear chest there.

Water Mill Gear Chest
You can find the Water Mill Gear Chest below the base of the tower near the Water Mill. The entrance is blocked by a shelf that you can pull to access it.

Abandoned Caravanserai Gear Chest
You can find the Abandoned Caravanserai Gear Chest inside the rock wall on the northern side of the building. You need to bring a fire pot from the southern side and climb a shelf and rope platform to reach the northern side.

Spymaster's Camp Gear Chest
You can find the Spymaster's Camp Gear Chest on top of the fallen treehouse in the middle of the area. Be careful not to roam around the lower area as there are several leopards in the area.

Dur-Kurigalzu Gear Chest
You can find the Dur-Kurigalzu Gear Chest on a cave underneath the location. Dive down from the viewpoint and make your way to the small cavern to find the gear chest.

You can find the Southern Camp Gear Chest on the northwestern side of the camp. Find the gap on the wooden barrier and jump through it. The gear chest should be located on the small tent.

You can only get one gear chest reward in the form of the Hidden One Outfit at Round City. The succeeding gear chests will reward you with its upgrade schematic.

Two of the Wilderness Gear Chest rewards can be obtained by opening the gear chest located in the areas listed.
On the other hand, Milad's Outfit, Shamshir-e Zomorrodnegar, and Shamshir-e Zomorrodnegar are part of a quest called The Calling and requires you to collect 10 Mysterious Shards to unlock the outfit and weapons underneath the Northern Oasis.
How Gear Chest Rewards Work
Gear Chest Rewards Weapons, Outfits, and Their Upgrade Schematics
When you open a Gear Chest, you immediately obtain its rewards. Its rewards can either be a weapon, an outfit, or the weapon/outfit's upgrade schematic. The contents of the gear chest depend on the order you unlock them.
Gear Chest Rewards are Fixed in a Specific Order
The individual Gear Chest rewards aren't exactly fixed for all players. For example, let's say Harbiyah has 6 gear chests where you can get X and Y, as well as their respective 2 upgrade schematics each, for a total of 6 rewards.
Reward X can be found in 3 gear chest locations; A, B, and C. If you unlock the first gear chest in location A, you'll get X, then location B and C will contain the upgrade schematics for X.
On the other hand, if you loot your first chest in location B, you'll get Reward X, then location A and C instead will contain the upgrade schematics for X. Either way, the gear reward always comes before its schematic unlock.
This follows for Reward Y, which can also be in either locations D, E, F. It's the same order of Reward and its upgrade schematics as explained for Reward X.
How to Find Gear Chests
Synchronize Viewpoints
The easiest way to see the gear chests on the map is to synchronize viewpoints. This reveals the location of all collectibles within the viewpoint's range, including gear chests.
Buy Gear Chest Maps from Cartographer
You also have the option to uncover gear chests when you purchase Gear Chest Maps from the Cartographer west of Basra Gate in Round City.
Note that you need to spend Scholar Favor Tokens to buy the maps from the Cartographer.
