Upgrading an outfit is an important mechanic in the game. Doing so will improve its perk and make Basim have an easier time during fights or missions.
Here are the steps to upgrade your outfit.
Before you can upgrade an outfit, you need to get its Upgrade Schematic first. You can get these from Gear Chests in the same area where you got the outfit that it's for.
Sometimes you can get an outfit's upgrade schematic by completing Contract Missions!
The next thing you need to do before you can upgrade an outfit is to gather Steel Ingots and Leather.
Every Tier 1 Upgrade of an outfit requires x30 Steel Ingots and x60 Leather. Upgrading it to the next tier will require x60 Steel Ingots and x120 Leather.
In total, you need x90 Steel Ingots and x180 Leather to upgrade one outfit to its max tier.
When you have gathered all the needed materials, go to a tailor and have them upgrade your outfit!
Outfits can be obtained from Gear Chests scattered throughout the game. Synchronize at viewpoints to reveal parts of the map, and use Enkidu to spot golden markers that lead to either Gear Chests or Enigmas.
The individual Gear Chest rewards aren't exactly fixed for all players. For example, let's say Harbiyah has 6 gear chests where you can get X and Y, as well as their respective 2 upgrade schematics each, for a total of 6 rewards.
Reward X can be found in 3 gear chest locations; A, B, and C. If you unlock the first gear chest in location A, you'll get X, then location B and C will contain the upgrade schematics for X.
On the other hand, if you loot your first chest in location B, you'll get Reward X, then location A and C instead will contain the upgrade schematics for X. Either way, the gear reward always comes before its schematic unlock.
This follows for Reward Y, which can also be in either locations D, E, F. It's the same order of Reward and its upgrade schematics as explained for Reward X.
You can get outfits as you complete missions and certain questlines in the game. The Initiate of Alamut Outfit is the first one you'll get while progressing through the game's main story.
Some outfits are only obtainable through paid content in the in-game store, and these outfits come with perks that can benefit Basim on his journey to become the Master Assassin!
Be sure to link your game to Ubisoft Connect to be able to access other Outfits you can't get in-game!
