These customizations refer to equipment and armor that provide effects that help with gameplay.
Outfits alter Basim's Appearance and Give Bonus Perks
Outfits provide various effects that help in combat or steath. Each outfit can be upgraded to enhance its effects.

Swords and Daggers Can Be Changed
Swords and daggers can also be changed in the inventory screen. We speculate that the weapons provide different damage output, as well as weapon modifiers.

Cosmetics Related Customizations
These customizations refer to outfits and armor that only alter Basim's appearance. They do not provide bonus effects when worn.
Outfit Dyes Change the Color of Your Outfit
Outfit dyes change the color of your equipped outfit. This is a purely cosmetic function that does not affect gameplay.
Costumes are Outfit Overlays
Costumes may refer to outfits that will alter Basim's appearance and are worn on top of the outfit. These often include outfits worn by the protagonists of the previous Assassin's Creed games.
Talismans Change Basim's Default Talisman
Talisman changes Basim's default talisman to a different style and appears on Basim's back. This customization option does not affect gameplay and is for cosmetic purposes only.
