After Basim is saved by Nehal from his nightmare about the The Jinni, players will be coursed through a basic tutorial on free running as they're tasked to follow Nehal across ropes and rooftops.
Eventually, the pair will arrive at a busy section of Anbar and a short cutscene will trigger.
After the cutscene, follow Nehal down from the roof and head towards the gathering of people. Nehal will then point out a merchant's pouch ripe for the picking.
Activate Basim's Eagle Vision to highlight the pouch in red, making it easier to spot, and easier to steal.
After swiping the merchant's pouch, follow Nehal again as she heads towards a haystack. From there, Nehal will point out prime targets for Basim to pickpocket.
Again, activate Basim's Eagle Vision to highlight the pouch you're trying to steal with a golden hue. The pouches in question will be tied to your targets' waists, so make your approach and start the pickpocketing mini-game.
There are only two actual merchants you have to pickpocket to progress this portion of the mission, but Basim is free to pickpocket more merchants than the two required ones.
Once Basim has finished pilfering the hapless merchants, Nehal will congratulate him by calling him The Master Thief of Anbar. Once the pair finish their playful banter, Basim is pointed in the direction of Dervis' meeting place.
Take whichever path you choose to Dervis to view a cutscene and progress this main mission.
Dervis will ask Basim to steal a ledger from the nearby encampment. Head northeast from where you met Dervis to find the encampment.
Once Basim arrives at the encampment, the tutorials for Knock Out / Assassinate will begin. Simply lure unsuspecting guards towards Basim to receive the Knock Out / Assassinate prompts.
As Basim approaches the objective marker, he will come to find that the ledger in question is being stored behind a locked door.
The key to open the ledger's room is acquired from a guard on the 2nd floor of the building right beside the ledger's location.
Just southeast of the ledger, Basim will find the guard that holds the key to the ledger's locked door. It is worth noting that using Eagle Vision while being in close enough proximity to the guard in question will display an orange key icon above the guard's head.
After collecting the ledger, Basim must then return and deliver it to Dervis. Head back to where you initially met Dervis to find him speaking to Roshan.
Once the cutscene with Roshan ends, another cutscene will play shortly after. Basim will then need to speak with Nehal and select the “Let's go to the Winter Palace” option. This will prompt another objective in which Basim must follow Nehal yet again.
Once Basim and Nehal arrive at the designated location, the game will automatically fast forward til nightfall.
Once night has fallen, follow Nehal as she sneaks her way through the Winter Palace. Basim will eventually come upon yet another locked door which requires a key.
Locate the key and enter the next area for another cutscene.
While facing the locked door, turn left and take another left, effectively taking a u-turn to find an open area with centered by a pool surrounded by flowers.
Some guards will be patrolling this area, along with some civilians lounging inside the pool.
Use Basim's Eagle Vision to distinguish which of the guards in this area is holding the key to the locked door. Once Basim has found the key-holder, either pickpocket him or knock him out to acquire the key.
Once inside the palace, watch or skip the cutscene and follow Nehal towards the chest. Once Basim gets close enough, another cutscene will play that leads to the death of the Caliph.
With the palace guards on Basim's tail, run, dodge, and weave your way through all the enemies to escape the palace and reach the Anbar Hideout.
Basim will wake up to find Roshan holding the contents of the chest, what we assume to be a Piece of Eden as she warns Basim of the impending dangers of being a wanted man.
The final objective of this mission is to escape to the docks. Get past the many guards patrolling the area by running or sneaking to reach the docks for a final cutscene that will end the tutorial and begin your journey through Assassin's Creed: Mirage.
Many of the objectives for this mission require pickpocketing, and locating items that are hard to spot. Use Eagle Vision as much and as often as you need to make spoting your objectives much easier than it would have been without Eagle Vision.
