Alan Wake 2 Announced That It Earned Back Most of the Money Spent on Its Production! (What About Royalty Income?)

Remedy Entertainment announced that it has recovered most of the money it spent on the development and marketing of Alan Wake 2. However, the game has not started earning royalties yet.

Alan Wake 2, which has encountered significant difficulties since its release, initially had difficulties in reaching the expected sales figures.

Royalty income is expected

Following the release of The Lake House, the second and final expansion pack of the game, Remedy completed the development process and announced the physical deluxe version of the game. According to financial reports, Remedy’s last quarter development costs rose due to increased development fees for new projects Control 2 and Max Payne 1&2. However, the reason for the decrease in royalty income is that sales largely consist of older games, Control and the original Alan Wake.

Remedy aims to expand Control and Alan Wake further in the future. While the company focuses on new projects, it remains unclear what the next steps will be for Alan Wake.
