Normal hacking will require the player to find an access point and complete a minigame to pull off the hack successfully. The minigame has you picking out letters and numbers from a grid. You will need the right combination indicated for basic access with optional extra hacks being available with extra combinations to activate various daemons that provide different benefits.
To be able to Quickhack, you will need a Cyberdeck. A Cyberdeck will allow you to hack enemies and machines when you scan them, deactivating or taking control of functions. Cyberdecks are a netrunner's trusty tool and will affect your Quickhacks.
Each Quickhacks will have a RAM cost that you will need to spend to activate and use the hack. The RAM required will vary based on the hack you have. Powerful hacks will require you to use more RAM to use it. One of the ways to increase your usable RAM is to get higher quality Cyberdecks.
