Stardew Valley developer: I don't mean to criticize other paid DLCs

Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone, the developer of Stardew Valley, previously swore in his interaction with players that he would not release paid DLC content on the basis of "family honor".

Barone has since expanded on this stance, saying, "I'm not criticizing developers who charge for DLC. Everyone has their own circumstances, and not charging is just my opinion, and it shouldn't be seen as a criticism of anyone else."

Barone has previously stated that his goal in making games is not to make money, but to share them with the world.

The Stardew Valley 1.6 update was released earlier, and the console version is still in development.
