Hogwarts Legacy Beats Modern Warfare 3, Spider-Man 2 as Most Downloaded PS5 Game of 2023

Baldur's Gate 3 makes top 10.

Hogwarts Legacy broke sales records last year, and guess what? It was also a colossal hit on the PlayStation Store. In North America, the spell-slinging action RPG was the most downloaded PS5 title of 2023, while in Europe, it was topped only by EA Sports FC 24. This means that the Harry Potter tie-in beat out the likes of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Marvel's Spider-Man 2 — which certainly isn't easy.

Before we jump to the full lists, it's worth noting that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Baldur's Gate 3, and Diablo 4 — three of 2023's biggest releases — made the top ten in both territories. Meanwhile, Final Fantasy 16 ended up 12th in North America, and 15th in Europe. Resident Evil 4 had a similar impact, landing in 13th in North America, and 14th in Europe. Alan Wake 2, another critically acclaimed release, didn't make the charts in either territory (and it was digital-only).
